Can kidney disease cause neuropathy?

My father has advanced kidney disease, and now he's experiencing numbness and tingling in his hands and feet. His doctor mentioned it might be neuropathy. I'm wondering if kidney disease itself can lead to this nerve issue.

Yes, toxin buildup can damage nerves over time, causing that tingling feeling. Keeping your diet clean and doing some light, low-impact exercise can help with blood flow. Definitely consult your doctor before starting any new routine, though.

Yes, uremic neuropathy is a real thing when kidneys aren't filtering properly. Please take care and discuss this with your doctor soon to get some relief.

I was researching this recently and read that when waste products build up in the blood, it can affect the peripheral nerves in the legs and feet. It seems quite common in advanced stages. Have you spoken to a neurologist or your nephrologist about this yet?

As a diabetic, I have to be extremely careful because both high sugar and kidney issues can cause severe neuropathy. I keep my HbA1c strictly monitored and follow my renal diet plan very closely. Please get both your sugar and kidney function checked.

You can gently massage your feet with warm sesame oil to improve circulation and soothe the nerves. But please remember, if the numbness is spreading, you must see a doctor immediately. Home remedies can only support, not cure kidney-related nerve damage.

In my experience with my father's treatment, he started feeling a burning sensation in his toes as his kidney function went down. His doctor explained it was due to the toxins. Once his dialysis schedule was regularized, the sensation became much more manageable.

I tried everything from warm water foot soaks to herbal oils for my uncle's leg tingling, but honestly, only medical treatment for his kidneys brought real relief. Home tips can give you comfort for an hour, but the root cause needs a proper nephrologist's prescription.

The numbness and burning sensation in the feet can be so frustrating and scary to deal with every single day. I remember feeling so helpless when my relative went through this. Please hang in there and talk to your doctor, there are medications that can help manage this pain.
