Can kidney disease cause lower back pain?

I've been having this dull ache in my lower back for a few weeks now. My uncle has kidney problems and he says he also has back pain. Could my back pain be related to my kidneys?

Usually, back pain is just a sore muscle from bad form or lifting, but kidney pain is felt higher up in the back, under the ribs. Keep yourself well-hydrated and focus on your core strength, but if the pain is deep and constant, get a scan done.

I completely understand the anxiety you are going through right now. When my lower back started aching, I was so terrified that my kidneys were failing and I spent days crying. Please don't suffer in silence, talking to a doctor really helped calm my mind and find the real cause.

Actually, even I am feeling a dull ache in my lower back since last week and I'm so scared it's kidney-related. Does kidney pain feel like a muscle pull, or is it a different kind of deep pain? If anyone else has experienced this, please let me know.

I was just reading up on this because my dad has lower back pain. Apparently, true kidney pain is usually one-sided and felt higher up in the flank area, not the lower spine. Still, a simple ultrasound can easily clear up any doubts.

Oh, kidney pain can definitely feel like a backache, especially if you have a kidney stone or infection. I remember drinking gallons of coconut water and water to flush things out when I had a mild ache. But please skip the heavy spicy foods for a bit and see a doctor.

Actually yaar, sometimes we think it's a normal muscle catch but it can be kidney-related if there's an infection or stone. Don't just apply pain relief gel and ignore it. Better to do a quick urine test just to be safe.

Yes, but don't jump to conclusions yet. If your doctor confirms your kidneys are fine, some light lower-back stretching and daily walks can help relieve muscle stiffness. Keep moving gently and stay hydrated.
