Can kidney disease cause gout?

Living with kidney disease, my doctor recently told me I might also have gout. I'm wondering if there's a link between these two conditions or if it's just a coincidence.

Yes, damaged kidneys can't filter out uric acid properly, which leads to gout. You should get a uric acid blood test done.

Oh absolutely, my dad went through this. His kidney issues meant his body couldn't clear uric acid, and he got terrible joint pain in his big toe. It was so painful, but adjusting his diet and taking doctor-prescribed meds helped so much. Hope you feel better soon!

Haan, kidney problem se uric acid badhta hai aur gout hota hai. Aap saste me kisi local lab se Serum Uric Acid aur Kidney Function Test (KFT) ka combo package karwa lo, mushkil se 500-600 rupaye ka kharch aayega. फालतू me badi fees mat dena pehle.

Yes, they are highly correlated. My smart health tracker showed my hydration levels were low when my joint pain spiked. Tracking your water intake on an app can help, but you absolutely need to get your kidney filtration rate (eGFR) and uric acid checked clinically.

Omg, yes, this thought makes me so anxious! High uric acid is directly connected to kidneys because they are supposed to flush it out. If they are struggling, it builds up in joints. Please get it checked immediately before the pain gets worse, take care!

Beta, when kidneys are weak, they cannot clean the blood properly, causing uric acid to settle in the joints as gout. Drinking warm water can help wash away toxins, but you must strictly avoid sour foods and spinach, and consult your doctor for proper treatment.

Yes, kidney strain can definitely lead to uric acid buildup and gout. Being diabetic, I am very careful about my protein and sugar intake as both affect kidneys. Please avoid self-treating with high-protein diets and consult your doctor for a customized diet plan.
