Can kidney disease affect your eyes?

My vision has been getting a bit blurry lately, and I also have kidney disease. I'm trying to figure out if these two things are connected somehow. Can kidney disease affect your eyes?

Sometimes high blood pressure from kidney issues affects the blood vessels in the eyes. While eating less salt and drinking warm water helps manage fluid buildup naturally, you must see an eye specialist and a nephrologist to prevent any serious damage.

Yes, it actually can. My grandmother had chronic kidney issues, and she often got puffy eyes and blurry vision because of fluid retention and high blood pressure. If you are noticing changes, please get both your kidneys and your eyes checked.

Yeah, it can, especially because kidney problems and high blood pressure go hand in hand, which can mess with the blood vessels in your eyes. I had some swelling around my eyes last year during a health scare. Better to get it checked out by a doc.

Haan, bilkul affect kar sakta hai. Kidney disease se blood pressure badh jata hai, jisse aankhon ki nerves pe asar padta hai, na. Agar aankhon me dhundhla dikh raha ho ya swelling ho, toh doctor ko turant dikhana chahiye.

Wait, I didn't even know this was possible until my friend's dad had to get his eyes checked because of kidney trouble. Apparently, things like fluid retention can make your eyelids super puffy in the morning. Crazy how everything in the body is connected!

Don't fall for online remedies claiming cucumber slices or special eye drops will cure puffy eyes caused by kidney issues. If your kidneys are retaining fluid or causing high BP, only a medical specialist can treat the root cause. Go get a proper clinical diagnosis.

In my husband's case, his kidney doctor always sent him for regular eye checkups because diabetic kidney issues can cause diabetic retinopathy. I can only share our personal family experience, so please consult your doctor for your specific case.
