Can kidney cysts be cancerous?

Statistically, the vast majority of kidney cysts are simple and benign. However, complex cysts with thick walls or irregular features do have a risk of being malignant. An MRI or contrast CT scan is the best way for a urologist to evaluate this properly.

Please try not to worry too much. Most cysts are absolutely simple and completely harmless. Just show the report to a doctor to put your mind at ease.
