Can itchy skin be a sign of skin cancer?

For a few months now, I've had an itchy patch on my skin that just won't go away. My neighbor's recent skin cancer diagnosis has made me quite anxious. Could persistent itchy skin actually be a sign of something serious like skin cancer?

I totally get it, when we search symptoms online, we always end up thinking the worst. Try not to jump to conclusions because normal dry skin or allergies cause 99% of itching. Just show it to a dermatologist once so you can sleep peacefully tonight.

Hey there! 🌟 Itchy skin is usually just dry weather or maybe a new soap you tried. Don't worry too much but definitely get any weird new moles checked out by a doc just to be safe! 👍

With our stressful lives and poor sleep, our immunity drops and we get weird skin issues. I monitor my health closely due to my high BP, and I always recommend doing a proper full body checkup once a year. If the itching doesn't stop, go see a skin specialist instead of guessing.

Oh god, don't stress too much about Google searches, they always show the scariest things! It is most likely just dry skin or some mild heat rash. Just apply some soothing calamine lotion and see a doctor if it doesn't go away in a week.

Actually, when I ate too many spicy street-style momos last week, my skin started itching like crazy due to some allergy. It is highly unlikely to be something scary like cancer, probably just a reaction to food or dust. Have some simple home-cooked food and keep the skin moisturized.
