Can intestine pain cause back pain?

For the past few days, I've been having sharp pains in my stomach area, and weirdly, my lower back has also started hurting a lot. Could the pain from my intestines be radiating to my back, or are these two separate issues?

Yes, it definitely can because the nerves in your digestive tract share pathways with your back muscles. When my mother had severe colicky pain, we took her to Fortis and the doctor explained this referred pain concept very clearly. Please consult a specialist to get a proper diagnosis.

Oh absolutely, when I overindulge in heavy butter chicken and get severe gas, my lower back starts throbbing too. The pressure from the bloating just presses against everything inside. Time to skip the heavy meals and stick to simple khichdi for a couple of days!

Please do not ignore this pain like I did, thinking it was just a normal muscle catch. My intestinal infection spread and the back pain got so bad I couldn't even stand. Go get a proper clinical checkup before the condition worsens.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels when pain spreads from your stomach to your back, it makes your mind jump to the worst scenarios. It is actually very common for gut pain to radiate to the back. Try to stay calm and book a quick doctor's appointment to ease your mind.

Yes, gas distension or spasm in the intestines can absolutely cause referred pain in the lower back. Try using a hot water bag on your back for some temporary relief. But if you have any vomiting, fever, or severe unbearable pain, go straight to the clinic.

Our body parts are beautifully connected, and physical discomfort is just a sign to slow down and rest. Intestine stress can easily manifest in the back. Keep your thoughts positive, drink clean warm water, and let your body heal naturally.

Ho na, stomach and back are so closely connected that one pain always triggers the other. When digestion is bad, the pressure causes severe backache, haan na. Try having some warm buttermilk and consult your family doctor if the pain is continuous.

Yes, neuropathy or simple digestive issues from erratic sugar levels can cause this referred pain. I have to be very careful with my diet to avoid gut inflammation that triggers backaches. Make sure you get your fasting sugars checked along with a routine doctor visit.

Ah, the joys of getting older, where a bad lunch makes your lower back behave like it's broken! But seriously, gas and intestine cramps can easily trigger backaches. Take a light walk and get a doctor to check it if it doesn't settle down soon.
