Can infants sleep with blankets?
It gets quite cold here in winter, and I want my baby to be warm. My mother suggested a light blanket, but I've heard it might not be safe. Can infants sleep with blankets, and if so, what kind?

Actually, it is not recommended for infants under one year to sleep with blankets due to suffocation risks. Just like managing my thyroid health requires regular checkups, keeping your baby safe requires following pediatric guidelines. Ask your doctor about sleep sacks instead.
Honestly, no blankets! The anxiety of checking if the blanket has covered their face will keep you awake even when the baby is finally sleeping. Do yourself a favor and buy a wearable sleep sack so you can actually get some shut-eye.
It is much safer to avoid loose blankets in the crib during their first year. If it gets cold, we just dress our little one in warm, layered footie pajamas. It keeps them super cozy without any safety worries!
No, loose blankets are not safe for infants. Keep their sleeping area completely clear of blankets and pillows.
No, loose blankets in the crib are a big safety hazard. Keeping a safe environment for the baby helps prevent unnecessary panic and stress, which is good for your own blood pressure too. Stick to fitted sheets and consult your pediatrician.

I totally get it, you worry they might get cold at night, especially during winters. But please avoid blankets in the crib as they can block their breathing. Using warm layers of clothing is a much safer option to keep them snug.
I completely agree with keeping blankets out of the crib. Swaddling snugly or using a fitted sleeping bag is a much safer way to keep your infant warm at night.
