Can infant sleep in swing?

Our infant often falls asleep in his baby swing, and sometimes he sleeps for a good hour or two. My wife and I are curious if it's okay for babies to sleep in a swing, or if it poses any risks.

Don't trust parents online who say their babies slept fine in swings for months. Pediatric guidelines are very clear that an incline is unsafe for baby sleep. Always verify this with your pediatrician.

Back in our days, we had traditional cloth swings (ghodiyu) and we survived, but modern doctors strictly advise against letting babies sleep in inclined swings. Best to follow the modern medical advice!

My baby only falls asleep when the swing is moving and I get so anxious trying to shift her to the cot. Does anyone else struggle with this? I'm terrified of she waking up.

We often use a flat cotton sheet on a firm bed for our babies as per traditional ways. If your baby is having breathing issues or sleeping too deeply in a swing, please consult your doctor immediately.

May your little one stay blessed and healthy. For their physical safety and comfortable breathing, a simple, flat bed is always the most peaceful place for them to sleep.

I am preparing for my first baby and bought a beautiful automatic swing. Is it unsafe even if the baby is sleeping under direct supervision in the swing? Please let me know.

A swing is great for soothing them while you finish your lunch or dinner in peace! But once they are asleep, definitely shift them to a flat bed to keep them safe.
