Can indigestion mimic a heart attack?

My uncle recently had a heart scare, but it turned out to be severe indigestion. I've heard others say similar things. How closely can indigestion symptoms actually mimic a heart attack?

Yes, heavy oil or high fat vegetarian meals can cause severe acid reflux which feels like a burning chest pain. While correcting your diet helps, please check with a doctor to rule out any actual heart conditions.

Oh, this is my biggest fear! Every time I feel gas in my chest, I panic thinking it's a heart attack. If you are feeling this, please go to a doctor just to be completely sure and relieve the anxiety.

Since I have high BP, I never take chest discomfort lightly. Severe acidity can definitely mimic a heart attack, but you must get your pressure and heart checked by a doctor instead of guessing.

My cardiologist explained that because the heart and esophagus share the same nerve network, acid reflux can feel exactly like angina. He advised that any chest pain radiating to the jaw or arm needs immediate emergency evaluation.

It's better to spend a little on a basic ECG at a local lab than to take a huge risk. If you have chest tightness, please get a quick checkup done to be safe, it is quite affordable.
