Can ice baths cause kidney stones?

I've been seeing a lot of videos about ice baths for recovery and overall health benefits. I'm thinking of trying it, but someone mentioned it could be bad for kidneys. Can ice baths potentially cause kidney stones?

I had severe kidney issues from extreme dehydration during intense training. If you do ice baths and don't drink enough water, the dehydration can definitely trigger stone formation. Please check with a doctor before starting any extreme therapy.

There's no direct connection between ice baths and kidney stones, honestly. Stones are mostly about diet, calcium build-up, and not drinking enough water. Unless you are severely dehydrating yourself, you are totally fine.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because I wanted to try cold plunges. From what I found, there is zero scientific proof linking ice baths to stones. It seems to be just a random internet myth.

No way, don't stress too much about this! Ice baths are just for muscle recovery. As long as you are keeping yourself well-hydrated throughout the day, kidney stones won't just appear from cold water.

I don't think there is a direct link, but cold exposure can sometimes stress the body if not done carefully. If you have any underlying health conditions, it is always safer to ask your physician before trying extreme cold therapy.
