Can ibuprofen break a fever?

I've had a fever since yesterday and it's not going down easily. I took paracetamol earlier, but it only helped a little. Can ibuprofen effectively bring down a high fever?

Yes, it can break a fever, but it is quite strong on the stomach. Always make sure to eat a small bowl of khichdi or some warm porridge before taking it. Keeping your diet light and hydrated helps your body fight the fever naturally.

It does help reduce fever, but please consult a doctor for the correct dose, especially if you have chronic conditions. I always make sure to discuss any painkillers with my physician since I manage thyroid issues and require regular monitoring.

I completely understand how scary it feels when you have a stubborn fever that won't go down. Ibuprofen is generally effective for breaking it, but if you feel anxious about side effects, just call your doctor for peace of mind.

I didn't know we could use ibuprofen for fever, I thought only paracetamol worked. Is it safe to take it if the fever is very high, or should I wait and ask a doctor first?

Actually it works really fast to break a fever, yaar. But don't take it on an empty stomach because it can cause bad acidity. If the fever doesn't go down in a day or two, better see a doc.
