Can i take trazodone and benadryl together for sleep?

I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, and I'm really exhausted. I have Trazodone for sleep, and also some Benadryl for allergies. Can I take Trazodone and Benadryl together to help me sleep better?

I completely feel your pain, insomnia can make you feel so helpless and desperate for just a few hours of peace. But mixing these two can make you extremely groggy and sluggish the next day. Please talk to your doctor before combining them, you deserve safe sleep.

Bhai, sleeping problems are very tough to deal with, I understand. But please don't mix these two medicines on your own, it can be risky for your health. Do ask a local doctor first so you stay safe.

Welcome to the group. Combining a prescription sleep aid like Trazodone with Benadryl can lead to excessive sedation and coordination issues, which isn't safe. It is always best to let your prescribing doctor know if your current sleep medication isn't working well enough.

I actually asked my doctor about this last month when my sleep was terrible. He strictly warned me not to mix Trazodone with over-the-counter antihistamines like Benadryl because it can cause severe drowsiness and dry mouth. He adjusted my Trazodone dose instead.

Beta, taking too many strong pills for sleep can harm the body in the long run. Try drinking a cup of warm turmeric milk or doing some quiet breathing exercises before bed to calm your mind. If you must take these medicines, please consult your doctor first.

Oh no, please be very careful! Mixing a prescription antidepressant with an allergy medicine for sleep sounds like it could really lower your blood pressure or make you feel dizzy. I would be too scared to try it without a doctor's clear permission.
