Can i take magnesium with thyroid medication?

I've been on thyroid medication for a while now, and recently started taking magnesium supplements for better sleep. Someone told me it might affect my thyroid medicine. Can I take magnesium with my thyroid medication?

My mom takes thyroid pills and her doctor told her not to take magnesium or calcium at the same time. Apparently, it blocks the thyroid medicine from absorbing properly. Better to keep a gap of at least 4 hours!

Don't just trust random bloggers saying magnesium is a miracle for thyroid. Taking them together can seriously reduce the effectiveness of your thyroid hormone. Verify the exact timing and gap with your doctor first.

If you're using magnesium for muscle recovery alongside thyroid meds, timing is everything. Make sure you take your thyroid pill on an empty stomach in the morning, and save the magnesium for night time. Consult your doctor to be safe.

Listen, if you take magnesium right after your thyroid pill, you are basically wasting your thyroid medicine. Keep a clear gap of 4 to 5 hours between the two. Better yet, let your doctor confirm your daily schedule.

Combining supplements can alter how your body absorbs thyroid hormones. Please get your TSH levels checked and show the reports to your endocrinologist before starting magnesium. Safety first.

I take thyroid meds in the morning and tried magnesium at night to fix my terrible sleep, but I still end up counting sheep! If you do take both, just make sure there's a big gap between them so your thyroid pill actually works.

Try drinking warm milk with turmeric or eating soaked almonds for natural relaxation instead of rushing for magnesium pills. If you have severe symptoms, always let your doctor decide the right supplement and medication routine.

To avoid wasting money on thyroid medicines that don't get absorbed properly, plan your supplement schedule carefully. A simple 4-hour gap costs nothing but saves you from having to get frequent, expensive thyroid blood tests done.

Along with managing your thyroid and magnesium timing, a brisk 30-minute daily walk can do wonders for your metabolism. Just ensure you keep a 4-hour gap between the two pills and consult your doctor for physical activity limits.

I am so confused about when to take these pills without messing up my thyroid levels. Does anyone else feel anxious about timing their supplements? I think I will just write down a schedule and show it to my doctor.

I panicked so bad when I realized I took my magnesium supplement right after my thyroid pill! My doctor reassured me that doing it once won't hurt, but advised keeping a 4-hour gap. Now it's perfectly fine, just separate the timings.

Instead of pills, try getting magnesium from natural vegetarian sources like almonds, spinach, and pumpkin seeds. If you still need a supplement, ensure a gap of several hours from your thyroid medication, as advised by your doctor.
