Can i take magnesium with stage 4 kidney disease?

My uncle has stage 4 kidney disease, and he often complains about muscle cramps. We were thinking of giving him magnesium supplements, but we are unsure if it's safe for someone with such advanced kidney issues. His current doctor is on leave.

Beta, stage 4 kidney disease is a very delicate stage. Do not take any outside supplements or tablets like magnesium without asking your doctor. Stick to a simple, salt-restricted diet as advised by your kidney specialist.

With stage 4 kidney disease, even certain vegetables high in potassium or minerals have to be limited. Taking magnesium supplements can easily build up in your blood and cause toxicity. Please follow only your nephrologist's precise dietary chart.

In stage 4 kidney disease, renal function is severely compromised, making it dangerous to clear minerals like magnesium. Accumulation can lead to serious cardiovascular and neurological complications. You must rely solely on your nephrologist's guidance.

In stage 4, the body is already very weak, so please do not take any modern pills on your own. It can harm your kidneys further. Always show your reports to a big doctor in the city and do what they say.

I am new to learning about kidney care, but is magnesium really that risky in stage 4? My grandfather has chronic kidney issues and was asking about it. Should we completely avoid all mineral supplements?

Yaar, stage 4 is actually a pretty advanced stage for kidney issues. Taking magnesium without checking could be really risky for your heart and muscles. Better to talk to your doctor and get blood tests done first.

Stage 4 requires extreme caution. Please get your magnesium levels checked through a blood test first and let your nephrologist decide if you need any supplement. Never self-medicate at this stage.

My father has stage 4 kidney disease and his nephrologist strictly banned all over-the-counter magnesium and potassium pills. We only give him the specific medications prescribed at the clinic. Please ask your doctor before taking anything.

Dealing with stage 4 kidney disease is incredibly stressful, and trying to find the right supplements can feel overwhelming. Please don't take magnesium on your own as it can accumulate in the body. Talk to your doctor to find a safe way forward.
