Can i take 50 mg of doxylamine succinate for sleep?

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, and I heard doxylamine succinate can help. I have some tablets that are 25mg each. Can I take 50mg of doxylamine succinate for sleep, or should I start with a lower dose?

I am so tired my eyes are burning, but 50mg of doxylamine is super heavy. I took 25mg once and felt like a absolute zombie for the next 18 hours. Start much lower if you want to function tomorrow.

The standard over-the-counter dose for sleep is usually 25mg. Please check with your doctor before taking 50mg, as it can cause severe drowsiness, dry mouth, and urinary retention.

Beta, taking such strong chemical pills for sleep is not healthy. Drink a hot glass of milk with a little cardamom before sleeping, it is much safer than these 50mg pills.

I always research sleep aids carefully because PCOS already messes with my hormones. 50mg of doxylamine is quite high, so I would suggest starting with a smaller dose or consulting your gynecologist first.

When I asked my doctor about this, he told me that 25mg is the standard dose for insomnia. He warned that doubling it to 50mg doesn't actually help you sleep better, it just increases the side effects.
