Can i run with sciatica pain?

I've been experiencing sciatica pain for the last few weeks, especially after sitting for long periods. Running is my main way to stay fit, but I'm worried it might make the pain worse. Is it safe to continue running with sciatica pain?

Bhai, running with sciatica sounds like inviting a current shock to your leg! Give your running shoes a rest. Let the nerve calm down first, else you will be running straight to the clinic.

I would be very scared to run with sciatica. What if the nerve gets compressed more and the leg goes numb? Pls be careful and don't push yourself, maybe just stick to slow walks for now until a doctor says it's ok.

I got terrified when my leg started tingling and I thought I'd never walk normally again. But actually, with physical therapy and some rest, it recovered completely. Stop running for now, let it heal, and you'll be back on track soon.

Running puts high impact on your lower back which can irritate the sciatic nerve further. Better to swap running with low-impact swimming or stationary cycling. Make sure to strengthen your core and glutes to support your spine.

I know how frustrating it is to sit idle when you love being active, it really affected my mood. But running will only flare it up. Please be kind to your body and give it time to heal, this pain will pass.

Suno, don't try to be a hero right now. Running with sciatica is a bad idea because every stride jolts your spine. Take a break, do gentle stretches told by a physio, and let the inflammation go down first.
