Can i put eczema cream on my face?

I've been using an eczema cream on my body, and it works well to control the flare-ups, but now I have a small patch developing on my cheek. I'm hesitant to put the same strong cream on my face. Is it generally safe to apply eczema cream to facial skin, or should I use something milder?

I have dealt with eczema for years and learned this the hard way. Do not put your body eczema cream on your face unless it is specifically prescribed for facial use. Strong steroid creams can thin your facial skin and cause severe redness or breakouts. Use only mild, non-steroidal moisturizers meant for the face.

Please be very careful before applying any eczema cream to your face. The skin on the face is extremely delicate, and some eczema creams contain strong steroids that can cause damage. It is best to check the tube or ask your doctor before applying it there.

I panicked so much when I accidentally applied my husband's eczema cream on my dry cheeks and my face turned red. It turned out to be a mild reaction, and the doctor told me facial skin needs very gentle, specific creams. Don't worry, just wash it off with plain water and consult your dermatologist for a face-safe option.

I am also dealing with flaky skin on my face and was thinking of using my prescribed eczema ointment. Did anyone else get rashes or skin thinning from doing this? I am really scared of making my facial skin worse, so I haven't applied it yet.

Eczema creams are often too strong for the face, so it is better to avoid them unless a doctor advised it. For mild facial dryness or itching, I always prefer applying pure virgin coconut oil or fresh aloe vera gel. If the irritation or rash is very severe or spreading, please consult a dermatologist instead of self-treating.
