Can i go to emergency room for tooth pain?

I've been having excruciating tooth pain for the last two days, and my regular dentist is closed for the weekend. The pain is getting unbearable now. Can I go to the emergency room for severe tooth pain, or should I wait until Monday?

Honestly, you can go to the ER if the pain is completely unbearable and making you feel dizzy, but they usually just give a painkiller and tell you to see a dentist. If there is visible swelling around your jaw or neck, please don't wait. Better to be safe and get it checked by a proper professional.

My doctor at Apollo always says that general emergency rooms aren't fully equipped for dental work, though they can manage extreme swelling or fever from infection. If you have fever along with the pain, definitely go to the ER. Otherwise, just call your regular dentist's emergency line to get proper advice.

Arey bhai, if the pain is very high, you should go to the hospital. But standard hospitals don't have dentists sitting there at night, so they will only give some temporary relief medicine. If you can manage with warm salt water gargle for tonight, do that and run to a dentist first thing tomorrow morning.

If you go to the ER, be prepared to wait for hours because they prioritize life-threatening cases over toothaches. Unless you have high fever or severe facial swelling, it is much faster to book an early morning priority appointment with a local dentist. Don't waste your night waiting in a lobby if it can be avoided.

Whenever my body's inflammation goes up, my dental pain also peaks. If you have any ongoing issues, it is always best to consult your general doctor along with the dentist. You can go to the ER if you feel very sick or weak, but follow up with a proper dentist for a permanent solution.

Tooth pain is the absolute worst, it makes you want to pull your own head off! Honestly, the ER will just give you a basic painkiller and a huge bill, not a magical new tooth. Go only if your face is swelling up like a balloon, otherwise just sleep it off and find a dentist tomorrow.

I was checking on my health app last time this happened to me, and it basically says ER is only for absolute emergencies like breathing trouble due to swelling or uncontrollable bleeding. If it's just throbbing pain, an online dental consultation might get you a prescription for a quick painkiller. Save the ER trip unless things look really bad.

In our days we used to press a single clove (laung) near the painful tooth, which gives temporary relief. But look, if the pain is severe or you feel feverish, go straight to the hospital. Do not rely only on home remedies if the infection is spreading.

Last year I panicked and ran to the casualty ward at 2 AM thinking my jaw was rotting. They were very nice but literally just gave me a generic paracetamol and told me to see my dentist. Unless you are bleeding or can't swallow, you can probably wait till morning and save yourself the panic.

Beta, please don't stress too much, mind and body are connected and crying will make the pain feel worse. If the pain is making you miserable, there is no harm in visiting a nearby clinic or hospital for immediate relief. Keep your calm, drink some warm water, and let a doctor guide you tonight.
