Can i eat grapes as a diabetic?

I'm a diabetic and love grapes, especially this season. My neighbour told me they are very high in sugar and I shouldn't eat them. Is it true, or can I have them in moderation?

Grapes are quite high in simple sugars, so they aren't the best choice for diabetics. If you really want them, limit the portion to a small handful and pair them with some almonds or walnuts to slow down the sugar spike. Monitoring your post-meal levels is the only way to know for sure.

With diabetes, it feels like every sweet thing is the enemy! Grapes are high in sugar and have a medium glycemic index, so they can spike your sugar quickly if you eat a bowlful. I limit myself to just 4-5 grapes once in a while to keep my doctor happy.

True, grapes can spike sugar very quickly. It is much safer to eat fruits like guava or jamun instead if you have diabetes.

Grapes do contain natural sugars and have a moderate glycemic index, which means they can raise blood glucose levels rapidly if consumed in large quantities. It is generally safe to have them in strictly controlled portions, but discussing your daily carbohydrate allowance with your diabetologist is highly recommended.

Haan beta, angoor mein meetha zyada hota hai toh dhyan rakhna padta hai. Mere pati ko bhi sugar hai, hum unhe din mein bass 4-5 angoor hi dete hain jab unka mann hota hai. Zyada khane se sugar badh jati hai.

I used to panic and think I could never touch grapes again after my diabetes diagnosis. But my educator reassured me that having 10-12 small grapes along with some protein like paneer is totally fine and doesn't cause a spike. It is all about portion control!

I don't want to give any medical advice, but as a diabetic, I personally avoid grapes completely. Even eating a small handful of them used to shoot my blood sugar levels up significantly on my monitor. I stick to apples or papaya instead.

I manage both high blood pressure and diabetes, and dietary control is everything. Grapes are sweet and can affect your glucose levels fast. Make sure you are doing regular checkups and walking daily, and keep grapes to a very small portion once in a while.
