Can i call ambulance for mental health?

A friend of mine is having a severe mental health crisis and is not in a safe state. I'm trying to figure out the fastest way to get them help. Can we call an ambulance in India for a mental health emergency, or are there other specific services for this?

If it is an absolute emergency where someone is in danger, yes you should call for help. For milder panic or anxiety, getting some fresh air and walking slowly can help calm the heart rate down.

In our times we didn't talk about these things, but now I understand how serious it can get. If your mind is in deep trouble, treat it like any physical injury and call for medical help without any shame.

I used to get severe panic attacks and felt like calling an ambulance every time. It is completely okay to seek help if you feel unsafe. There are also specific mental health helpline numbers you can try first.

Yes, if it is a severe psychiatric crisis, you can call emergency services. You can also use mental health apps like Amaha or Vandrevala Foundation helpline for immediate tele-support.

Yes, dear, mental health emergencies are real health emergencies. If someone is hurting themselves or in extreme distress, please call an ambulance or take them to the nearest hospital casualty immediately.

During extreme panic, my blood pressure shoots up and it feels like a physical emergency. If you feel physical chest pain or extreme distress, do not hesitate to call an ambulance for a proper checkup.
