Can i breastfeed with diabetes?

I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my pregnancy, and I'm now a new mother. I really want to breastfeed my baby. Can I safely breastfeed my baby while managing my diabetes, or are there any risks involved?

Yes you can, but keep a close track of your levels. Just like managing my thyroid, keeping diabetes under control with regular checkups makes breastfeeding much easier and safer for both.

Breastfeeding is highly recommended even if you have diabetes, as it can actually help lower your blood sugar levels. However, you should consult your endocrinologist to adjust your insulin dosage and diet plan.

Don't worry at all, dear. You can absolutely breastfeed your little one. Just make sure you eat healthy snacks right before or during a feed because breastfeeding can drop your sugar levels quickly.

I know how stressful it is to manage diabetes while caring for a newborn. Please be assured that you can breastfeed, and it actually helps bond with the baby while keeping your metabolism active.

It is totally fine to feed, just focus on keeping your nutrition on point. Adding clean, whole foods and keeping up with light physical activity will help manage your insulin sensitivity naturally.

Yes, you can absolutely breastfeed. Just monitor your glucose levels regularly because milk production consumes a lot of energy and can cause sudden hypoglycemia. Keep a sweet snack handy.
