Can hydroxyapatite reverse cavities?

In an effort to improve my dental hygiene, I came across toothpastes with hydroxyapatite. They say it can strengthen enamel and even reverse small cavities. Is this true? Can hydroxyapatite actually help reverse existing cavities?

Yes, it can help remineralize very early stage micro-cavities. However, deep cavities definitely need a proper filling by a dentist.

I panicked when I saw tiny white spots on my teeth and thought I needed root canals. Later my dentist said it's just early demineralization and a hydroxyapatite toothpaste would fix it. It actually worked and my teeth feel fine now, so don't stress!

Agree with others here. It works well for rebuilding early enamel damage, but do visit a dentist if you feel any sensitivity or pain.

I completely understand the anxiety of finding a new cavity, it makes you want to try every remedy online to fix it. While hydroxyapatite is great for strengthening enamel, please don't let the stress build up. Just book a quick dentist appointment to get an honest opinion.

I always go to the dental department at Kokilaben Hospital for my family's checkups. My dentist there explained that while these toothpastes help strengthen enamel, they cannot fix an actual hole. Go get a proper clinical checkup to see if you need a filling.

There are some solid studies showing hydroxyapatite is highly biocompatible and great for remineralization. I've been tracking my dental routine on my health app and noticed less sensitivity since switching. It's a great modern alternative to fluoride, but won't fix physical decay.

It helps with mineral density in teeth, similar to how proper nutrition helps your bones. But remember, a good diet with less processed sugar is just as important for dental health. Use the toothpaste but keep your overall nutrition in check too.

I've read that it can help repair very minor enamel wear, which is great. But since our bodies can be sensitive to hormonal changes that affect oral health, I wouldn't rely on it completely. Better to get a professional dentist's view just to be safe.
