Can hunger cause chest pain?

My work schedule is sometimes very hectic, and I often end up skipping lunch. A few times, when I've been extremely hungry, I've felt a dull ache in my chest area. Can severe hunger actually cause chest pain, or should I be worried about something else?

Yes, extreme hunger causes severe acid buildup, which travels up the esophagus and causes heartburn that feels exactly like chest pain. But look, if the chest pain is radiating to your arm or jaw, or you feel short of breath, go to an ER immediately. Don't assume it's just gas.

I get this scary chest tightness when I don't eat for 6-7 hours and it makes me so anxious that I'm having a heart attack. Does anyone else get this kind of panic and chest ache just from being hungry?

Sip some lukewarm water with a pinch of fennel seeds to soothe the gas in your chest. But remember, if the pain feels like a heavy weight on your chest or is crushing, don't wait for home remedies to work and consult a doctor immediately.

I used to experience this severe burning chest pain when I skipped breakfast for work. Eating a banana or a slice of toast instantly solved it for me. Make sure to keep some dry snacks handy so your stomach is never completely empty.

Dude, yes, hunger acidity can hurt like crazy right in the middle of your chest. I got so freaked out once I almost went to the clinic, but then I ate some biscuits and it vanished. If it's real sharp pain though, definitely get it checked.

An empty stomach can produce excess hydrochloric acid, leading to severe reflux and chest discomfort. Try drinking a glass of cold milk to neutralize it. However, if you feel heavy pressure in your chest or sweating, please see a doctor right away.
