Can humidity cause joint pain?

Every monsoon season, my joint pains seem to get worse, especially in my knees and hands. My mother-in-law always says it's the humidity. Is there any truth to this? Can high humidity really cause or aggravate joint pain?

Yes, changes in barometric pressure and humidity make joints expand, causing pain. I face this a lot along with my joint-related thyroid flare-ups, so make sure to get your blood tests done and check with your doctor.

Humare yahan jab barsaat mein bohot nami hoti hai, tab sabke ghutno mein dard badh jata hai. Aap thoda garam tel se malish kiya karein, isse bohot aaram milta hai aur dard kam ho jata hai.

The change in weather affects our physical body, but we must keep our minds peaceful and patient. Try doing very gentle stretching inside the house when it is humid outside, and keep your body warm. Take care.

Oh god, yes, every time the weather changes, I get so anxious thinking it's something severe like arthritis. If your joint pain gets really bad or swelling starts, please don't wait and go get a proper checkup from an orthopedic doctor.

I feel this so much during the monsoon season, my ankles and knees literally start aching out of nowhere. I find that keeping the room warm and using a hot water bag helps instantly. Definitely try it!
