Can hpv cause esophageal cancer?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and someone at the hospital mentioned HPV as a possible factor for some cancers. It got me thinking, could there be a link between HPV and esophageal cancer specifically? I'm trying to understand all the potential causes for this condition.

I was studying this in our biology seminar and apparently it can, but smoking and drinking are way bigger causes for esophageal issues. Don't stress too much unless you have actual symptoms.

Haan na, some research says high-risk HPV strains can sometimes be linked to it, but it is not very common. Still, better to consult a doctor if you have any swallowing issues or throat pain.

Yes, there is a small link, though other lifestyle factors like smoking and alcohol pose a much higher risk.

I totally get it, reading about cancer connections online can be absolutely terrifying. Just remember that having HPV does not mean you will get cancer, so please try to stay calm and speak to a healthcare professional.

Drinking warm ginger water is great for soothing the throat, but for severe viral infections like HPV, natural remedies aren't enough. Please see a specialist if you have chronic throat discomfort.
