Can hitting your head cause a fever?

My son hit his head on the table yesterday and got a small bump. Today he has a slight fever. Could the head injury be the reason for his fever?

A fever after a head injury is absolutely not something you should ignore or treat casually. It could indicate a serious internal complication or infection. Please visit the nearest hospital emergency room immediately to get a proper scan done.

Oh dear, that sounds really stressful. Usually, minor bumps don't cause a fever directly, but if you are feeling hot or unwell after hitting your head, it's best to stay in a cool room. Definitely call a doctor if the temperature is rising.

It is quite rare to get a fever just from a head bump. Please consult a doctor immediately to rule out any serious internal trauma.

For mild bumps, applying an ice pack wrapped in a cloth is very helpful to reduce swelling. However, a fever after hitting the head is a major red flag that home remedies cannot fix. Please see a doctor right away to be safe.

Haan bhai, fever aana thoda ajeeb hai head injury ke baad. Normal chot me to fever nahi aata na, isliye isko light nahi lena chahiye. Ek baar doc ko dikha lo taaki koi tension na rahe baad me.

I literally went through this last month when I hit my head on a cabinet and got a fever of 100.5. The doctor told me it was due to the body's inflammatory response, but they still ran some basic neuro checks to be sure. Don't sit on it, just go get a quick checkup.

Oh god, please don't wait to see if it goes away. Even if it is just a tiny chance of a concussion or swelling in the brain, it is better to be safe than sorry. I would have run to the ER immediately if I were you. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hey, don't stress too much right now, but please do keep an eye on this. Sometimes our body gets shocked after a bump, but a high fever is not common. Just get a doctor to check you out so you can sleep peacefully tonight!

I panicked like crazy when my wife got a warm forehead after bumping her head on the car door. It turned out she just had a mild viral fever coincidentally starting at the same time. Still, getting a doctor's nod of approval saved us so much sleepless sleep, so please go get checked.

My son had a bad fall last year and developed a mild fever the next day. The doctor explained that severe stress or a deep bruise can sometimes cause a low-grade temperature, but we still got a CT scan to be 100% safe. Always get it clinically evaluated to avoid any complications.

I know how terrifying it is to sit there wondering if something is seriously wrong with your brain. When I had a fever after falling, I couldn't stop crying from anxiety. Please go to a doctor, if only to calm your mind and feel safe.

First, take a deep breath and lie down. While a fever isn't a typical symptom of a simple bump, it is critical to watch out for vomiting, dizziness, or drowsiness. Let's not take a chance with head injuries—please have a family member take you to a clinic today.

Haan na, head injury ke baad fever aana thoda scary lagta hai. My neighbor's kid also had a warm forehead after a fall and they immediately ran to the hospital. Aap bhi please self-medicate mat karo and doctor ko consult kar lo.

Please stay positive, the body has a beautiful way of healing itself. Keep yourself calm, put a cool damp cloth on your forehead, and pray. But do listen to your body and consult a medical practitioner if the fever does not go down.

As someone who deals with sports injuries often, a head strike is nothing to play with. A fever might mean your central nervous system is highly stressed or there is an infection. Skip your workouts, stay hydrated, and go get a proper medical scan immediately.
