Can high potassium cause heart attack?

My doctor told me my potassium levels are a bit high because of my kidney issues. I'm worried because I heard that too much potassium can be bad for the heart. Can high potassium levels actually lead to a heart attack?

I saw high potassium in my reports and got terrified after reading about cardiac arrest online. Do any of you also feel chest tightness or anxiety because of this? I'm scheduled to see my cardiologist tomorrow, but the wait is making me very nervous.

Severe hyperkalemia (high potassium) can definitely affect your heart rhythm. If you are experiencing any chest pain, shortness of breath, or palpitations, please don't wait. Go to the nearest emergency room immediately for an ECG.

I have been managing high BP for ten years and my doctor always monitors my potassium levels closely, as some BP meds can raise it. High levels can cause dangerous heart rhythms. Regular checkups and keeping your doctor informed is absolutely vital.

With my thyroid issues, I have learned the hard way that mineral imbalances can quickly affect the heart. High potassium is not something to ignore or self-treat. Please show your reports to your doctor immediately and get regular blood tests as advised.

I had no clue high potassium was serious until my doc warned me. I was eating bananas and coconut water daily like crazy! Had to put a complete stop to that. If you feel any chest heaviness, skip the internet search and go straight to a clinic.
