Can herniated disk cause hip pain?

I have a diagnosed herniated disc in my lower back and have been getting treatment. Recently, I've started experiencing significant hip pain as well. Could my herniated disc be the reason for this hip pain?

Yes, a herniated disc in the lumbar spine often presses on the sciatic nerve, which can cause deep pain in the hip and thigh. Gentle stretching and deep breathing can help soothe the nervous system. However, please consult a specialist before starting any physical exercises.

Hey! Yes, a herniated disc in your lower back can definitely send shooting pain right into your hip and buttocks. It's super common because of the nerve pathways down there. Try to avoid sitting for too long and definitely get a doctor's advice on physiotherapy.

Haan bilkul, mere chacha ko bhi lumbar disc ki problem thi aur unhe hip aur leg mein bahut tez dard hota tha na. Yeh actually nerve compression ki wajah se hota hai. Aap isko halke mein mat lo, ek baar acche spine doctor ko dikha lo.

I ignored a radiating pain in my hip for months, thinking it was just a muscle pull, and it turned out to be a severe herniated disc. By the time I went to the doctor, the nerve compression had worsened. Please don't repeat my mistake, go get a checkup and an MRI done.

Yes, a slipped disc can totally ruin your posture and send pain straight to your hip, making even sitting at your favorite restaurant difficult. When dealing with this, it's best to eat light to avoid extra weight on your spine. Go see a physical therapist to get your movement back!

Bro, yes, 100%. I had an L5-S1 disc herniation last year and the pain didn't even stay in my back—it shot straight into my left hip and hamstring. Getting a proper diagnosis and doing targeted physiotherapy was the only thing that worked for me.
