Can hepatitis c turn into hiv?

My friend just got diagnosed with Hepatitis C and I'm really worried about her. Someone mentioned something about it potentially leading to HIV. Is that actually true, or is it a complete myth?

Actually no yaar, they are two completely different viruses. Hep C affects the liver, while HIV attacks the immune system. They can't turn into each other, though someone can have both at the same time if they are not careful.

Absolutely true, one cannot turn into the other as they are completely different medical conditions. If you have concerns about either, getting a simple blood test is the best way to get clear answers.

They are completely distinct viruses with different structures, so one cannot mutate into the other. If there has been a potential exposure, please save your time researching online and get a standard blood panel done at any local lab. It's quick and gives you clear, actionable results.

Bro, relax, that's chemically and biologically impossible. Hep C and HIV are totally different bugs. I had a scare and did a full panel test last year, that's how I know. Just get a standard blood test to clear your doubts.

No, they are totally separate infections and one cannot turn into the other. Dealing with my thyroid has taught me that regular blood tests and listening to your doctor are the only ways to manage chronic health worries. Keep up with your routine health checks to stay on top of things.
