Can hepatitis c be transferred sexually?

I'm planning to get married soon, and my fiancée recently revealed she had Hepatitis C, which has now been treated. We are doing all tests, but I want to understand past risks. Can Hepatitis C be transferred sexually?

I completely understand how overwhelming and scary this anxiety can feel, I've been there too. To help ease your mind, yes, it can be transmitted sexually but the risk is actually quite low. Getting a simple blood test will help clear your mind.

When I was going through my own health scare, I felt so isolated and ashamed to ask about sexual transmission. Please don't be hard on yourself; it is a very common question. Yes, there is a small risk if blood contact occurs, so talking to a doctor is the best step.

Take a deep breath and try to calm your mind first. While the risk of sexual transmission for Hep C is low, it is still possible under certain conditions. Keeping your body healthy and getting a doctor's guidance is the best path forward.

Don't rely on random search results or forum comments to decide your risk level. If you have concerns about sexual transmission, go directly to a path lab, get tested, and show the reports to a qualified doctor.

The short answer is yes, but it is rare. It primarily spreads through direct blood-to-blood contact, so the risk increases if there is any blood present during sex. Just use protection and get tested to be absolutely sure.

I am a bit embarrassed to ask, but does this mean married couples need to take special precautions if one partner has it? I am just trying to understand the right steps to take.

In my experience, managing any health issue requires regular monitoring and a clean lifestyle. Since there is a slight risk of sexual transmission, getting regular screenings as part of your yearly health checkup is the smartest thing to do.
