Can hepatitis c be passed through saliva?

My colleague has Hepatitis C, and sometimes we share a tiffin. I am generally a bit paranoid about these things. Can Hepatitis C be passed through saliva?

I totally get it, these health doubts can make you feel so anxious. Try not to stress, because Hepatitis C is not transmitted through saliva or casual contact. It spreads through infected blood, so sharing toothbrushes or razors is the real risk here.

Hey, I totally understand why you would worry about this. But actually, Hepatitis C is not spread through saliva, kissing, or sharing food. It is a blood-borne virus, so you only need to be careful about blood-to-blood contact.

Beta, in my life, I have seen so many people get scared unnecessarily because of lack of information. Hepatitis C does not spread through saliva, so you don't need to isolate anyone or worry about simple daily contact. Trust the science and stay calm.

My elders used to be very cautious and have different ideas about how these illnesses spread. However, our family doctor clearly explained that Hep C is strictly blood-borne and doesn't pass through saliva. If you are worried, a quick talk with a doctor will give you complete peace of mind.

While saliva is not the issue here, if you or someone you know has been exposed to infected blood, please do not delay getting tested. I made the mistake of ignoring a health scare once and it only made things complicated. A simple blood test is all it takes to be sure.
