Can hepatitis b be transmitted through sweat?

My gym buddy has Hepatitis B and I'm a bit paranoid about using shared equipment, especially when we're both sweating a lot. Is there a risk? Can Hepatitis B be transmitted through sweat?

No, Hepatitis B cannot be transmitted through sweat. I track my health metrics daily and read a lot about this; it only spreads through blood, semen, and other body fluids, not perspiration.

I totally get it, sometimes we hear so many things and start worrying about everyday contact. But rest assured, sweat is completely safe and won't pass the virus.

According to extensive research and my discussion with our family physician, there is zero evidence of Hep B transmitting through sweat. It requires direct blood-to-blood or sexual fluid contact.

Don't worry about working out next to someone at the gym. Sweat does not carry the virus. If you are fit and your doctor allows, keep active without any fear!
