Can hepatitis b be transmitted through kissing?

I'm dating someone new and I just found out they have Hepatitis B. We haven't been intimate yet, but I want to understand the risks. Can Hepatitis B be transmitted through kissing?

Normal dry kissing is safe, but deep kissing with cuts in the mouth has a tiny risk. Instead of worrying, get a simple Hep B screening test for around Rs. 300-500 at any local lab. It saves a lot of mental stress and money.

I am managing Hep B right now. My doctor explicitly told me that social kissing on the cheek or even casual dry kissing is completely fine. It doesn't spread through saliva unless there is active bleeding.

Stressing over this will only increase your blood pressure! The risk is virtually zero unless there are open sores. Just focus on a healthy lifestyle and do regular checkups.

No, it doesn't spread that way. Just like we shouldn't believe random rumors about sugar cures, we shouldn't stress about catching Hep B from normal kissing. Keep your facts right.

Honestly, the risk with kissing is extremely low, but if you want absolute peace of mind, just get vaccinated. It's a three-dose course and you never have to overthink these things again.

My grandmother used to say we should be careful with sharing anything, but our family doctor reassured us that kissing is not a primary mode of Hep B transmission at all. Trust the medical science on this.
