Can heat exhaustion cause fever?

My brother felt very weak and dizzy after working in the sun all day, and then developed a high temperature. Can heat exhaustion actually cause a fever?

I was reading about this online because I felt super warm after spending hours in the sun yesterday. It seems like while heat exhaustion makes your skin cold and sweaty, it can escalate to a high body temperature or fever if you don't cool down. Very interesting to know!

Yes, heat exhaustion can definitely make your body run a high temperature. Drinking cold water and resting in shade helps immediately.

I got back from a sunny outdoor trip and now my body is burning up with a mild fever. Has anyone else felt this weird mix of chills and sweating after being in the sun, or should I be rushing to the hospital? I am getting a bit nervous.

Listen, if your body temperature is rising after being in the sun, that heat exhaustion is turning into a heat stroke. Stop sitting around and go to a cool room. Sponge your body with normal water and get a doctor to check you immediately if it stays high.

Drinking fresh barley water or eating sweet curd can help cool the internal heat of the body. However, if your fever is high and accompanied by dizziness or confusion, please do not rely on home tips and visit a doctor immediately.

Yes, while heat exhaustion typically causes cool, clammy skin, a rising core temperature indicates your body's cooling mechanism is failing. My physician emphasized that a high fever following heat exposure is a warning sign of heat stroke. Please seek professional medical evaluation immediately.

I remember crying and feeling so helpless when I got a sudden fever after a hot day outside, convinced my body was completely failing me. It's so scary when your temperature shoots up from the sun. Please rest, you are not alone, and let a doctor help you cool down safely.
