Can head trauma cause fever?

My son fell yesterday and hit his head on the floor, nothing major, just a small bump. But today he has a slight fever; I'm wondering if a minor head trauma can actually cause a fever, or if it's something else we need to look into.

Yes, head trauma can sometimes cause what is called a 'neurogenic fever' if the hypothalamus, which regulates body temperature, is affected. My doctor once explained that any swelling or injury near that area can disrupt temperature control. It requires immediate medical attention.

I recently had a bad fall and hit my head, and developed a mild fever the next day. The doctors kept me under observation because fever after a head injury can be a sign of internal inflammation or infection. Please don't ignore this and get checked.

Beta, a bump on the head is one thing, but if there is a fever following a head injury, it is not a normal symptom. Traditional cooling cloths can help temporarily, but you must take the person to a hospital immediately to ensure there is no internal injury.

While we can use cold compresses on the forehead to keep a normal fever down, head trauma is extremely delicate. A fever after a head injury is a serious warning sign that needs a doctor's immediate evaluation. Please do not rely on home remedies for this.

Fever after head trauma is a red flag and might require a CT scan, which can cost around 2000 to 4000 rupees depending on the lab. It is better to budget for this and go to a government hospital or a reliable diagnostic center immediately to get it checked safely.

My mother always tells us to apply turmeric paste on normal external bumps, but she strictly warns us if there is a fever after hitting the head. Our family doctor says a fever in such cases could indicate a serious brain response or infection. Please take them to the clinic right away.

Aise mamle mein bilkul laparvahi nahi karni chahiye, beta. Agar sir par chot lagne ke baad bukhar aa raha hai, toh turant doctor ke paas jao. Yeh andaruni chot ka sanket ho sakta hai, isse ghar par theek karne ki koshish mat karo.
