Can hairfall be a sign of cancer?

My hairfall has been extreme for the last year, and I'm really stressed about it. My mother's friend was diagnosed with cancer recently, and it got me wondering if such severe hairfall could sometimes be a sign of something like that.

Hair loss itself is almost never a primary sign of cancer; it is chemotherapy treatment that causes hair to fall. I went through this panic years ago and my doctor reassured me that normal hair fall is just due to stress, hormones, or vitamin gaps. Stop worrying and consult a doctor to ease your mind.

Please don't jump to the worst conclusion. In my case, I was terrified of my severe hair fall, but it turned out to be PCOS and hormonal imbalance. It is best to get a simple blood test done to check your levels rather than fearing the worst.

Stress and lifestyle disorders like high blood pressure are much more common causes of hair thinning. When our body is under constant stress, our hair cycles get disrupted. A regular health checkup with your doctor can help clarify things.

In my long life, I have seen hair fall happen due to seasonal changes, poor diet, or too much tension. Keep your scalp clean with mild home remedies like amla wash, and keep your mind calm. If you feel physically weak or have other symptoms, do consult a proper doctor.

I agree with others here. Usually, it's just stress or nutritional deficiency, so please visit a doctor instead of worrying online.

I also tend to search symptoms online and immediately fear the absolute worst, which makes my anxiety skyrocket. But honestly, hair fall is rarely linked to such serious issues directly. Please take a deep breath and book a doctor's appointment just to clear your doubts.
