Can grilling meat cause cancer?
My family loves having grilled chicken and kebabs, especially on weekends. Someone mentioned that grilling meat, especially if it's a bit charred, might be linked to cancer. Is this true, or just an old wives' tale?

Grilling at very high heat creates chemicals called HCAs and PAHs, which are linked to cancer risk. I love grilled food, so I marinate the meat first, which helps block those chemicals. Also, try to cook on medium heat and avoid eating heavily charred parts.
The science is clear: high-temperature grilling creates carcinogens when fat drips onto the coal and smokes up. But unless you're eating heavily charred meat every single day, the risk is minimal. Just clean your grill well and don't burn your food.
Bro, don't stress too much about this. Eating grilled kebabs once in a while is absolutely fine and won't give you cancer. Just don't make it your daily diet, keep things balanced, and enjoy your weekend tandoori!
Beta, in our days we cooked over tandoors all the time, but we didn't eat it daily. Eating charred meat regularly is not good for health. Keep it as an occasional treat, eat plenty of fresh vegetables with it, and you don't have to worry so much.
Oh God, I read about this online and got so scared because we grill chicken almost every weekend! Apparently, the black charred parts are the risky ones. I've started cutting off any burnt bits before eating just to be on the safer side.
