Can graves disease cause weight gain?

Graves' disease is what I have, and it's usually associated with weight loss. However, I've been gaining weight recently, so I'm confused if Graves disease can actually cause weight gain.

I have PCOS so I know how annoying hormonal weight shifts can be. From what I've heard from friends, Graves usually causes weight loss, but treatment or thyroid fluctuations can sometimes cause weight gain. Don't stress too much and consult your doctor to get the right picture.

Usually Graves' causes weight loss because of the fast metabolism, but once you start the treatment, things can swing the other way. I have high blood pressure and I know how much lifestyle matters when managing these things. Keep a close eye on your weight, do regular health checkups, and eat simple home-cooked food.

See, straight talk—Graves' is hyperthyroidism, so you usually lose weight. But if you are gaining, it's either due to the medications working too well and making you slightly sluggish, or something else. Don't guess online, go to your endocrinologist and get a thyroid panel done.

Haan na, normally isme weight loss hota hai because thyroid hyperactive ho jata hai. But once medications start, then metabolism slows down and weight gain can happen. It's totally normal, just talk to your doctor once to adjust the dosage.

With our busy work schedules, managing hormonal issues is tough. Usually Graves' causes weight loss, but the treatment can cause a rebound weight gain. I'd suggest booking a home blood test for thyroid levels to save time, then sharing reports with your specialist.

While Graves' is typically associated with weight loss, treatment changes can definitely cause the body to gain weight as it recovers. Gentle yoga and pranayama like Ujjayi breathing have really helped me stabilize my thyroid health. Keep your mind calm and let the body heal slowly.

Beta, these thyroid issues can play a lot of games with your weight. Usually Graves' makes you thin, but once you start medication, weight can increase. Drink warm water in the morning and eat fresh coriander seeds water, but don't stop your main doctor's medicines.

If you're noticing unexpected weight changes, you'll need regular T3, T4, and TSH tests. Look for diagnostic lab packages online as they offer good discounts, which saves a lot of money. It's much better to track these levels than guessing why your weight is shifting.
