Can gerd cause chest pain?

My doctor confirmed I have GERD, and I often feel this burning, tight sensation in my chest. Even though I know it's GERD, it still makes me anxious sometimes, thinking it's something more serious. Can GERD truly cause significant chest pain that feels alarming?

GERD chest pain is very common, but getting basic tests like an ECG or blood work done is important to rule out heart problems. You can get these done at a government hospital or local lab for very cheap. It is better to spend a little on tests now than to face a huge emergency cost later.

Yes, severe acid reflux can cause intense chest pain that feels like a burning sensation. I have noticed that avoiding heavy, spicy, and deep-fried vegetarian meals at night helps a lot. However, any new chest pain should be checked by a doctor first to rule out serious heart issues.

I manage diabetes, and I know that sometimes heart pain can feel like acidity, especially for us. While GERD does cause severe chest burning, you must never take chest pain lightly. Please get your heart checked by a doctor first, and then manage your diet and blood sugar strictly.

Honestly, my love for extra spicy street food often ends up with me clutching my chest in pain at midnight due to GERD. It really mimics a heart attack! I am trying to control my cravings, but if you have severe chest pain, please don't assume it's just gas; get it checked by a doc.

Beta, severe gas and acidity can definitely rise to the chest and cause burning pain. Chewing a little fennel seeds or sipping cold water can help cool the stomach. But remember, chest pain is not something to ignore at home. If it is severe, go see a doctor immediately.

My teenager used to complain of sharp chest pain after eating junk food, and we panicked thinking it was a heart issue, but it was just severe GERD. We stopped outside food and gave him cold milk. But please, if you are having severe pain or sweating, take them to a doctor immediately.
