Can gerd cause asthma attack?

I have GERD and sometimes the acid reflux is quite severe. Last night, I had a particularly bad episode where I felt like I couldn't breathe properly, almost like an asthma attack. Can GERD actually trigger or cause an asthma attack?

Yaar, late night biryani and spicy food triggers my GERD so badly that I wake up choking and coughing in the middle of the night. It literally feels like an asthma attack because the acid goes into the windpipe. I had to strictly cut down on heavy dinners, but you should check with a doc.

I am not a doctor, but I have noticed that whenever my acid reflux is at its worst, my chest feels incredibly tight and I start wheezing. My doctor told me the acid can irritate the airways and trigger asthma-like symptoms. It's always best to consult a professional for your specific condition.

Bro, my roommate has both asthma and acidity, and whenever he eats super oily food, his breathing issues get way worse. It's like the acid reflux triggers his wheezing big time. If you are having trouble breathing, please go see a doctor ASAP instead of waiting it out.

Yes, micro-aspiration of stomach acid can irritate the bronchials and trigger a severe asthma flare-up. I always track my symptoms and diet triggers on my phone to see patterns. If you feel sudden breathlessness or chest tightness, please seek emergency medical care.

In our days, we drank warm water with ginger and basil to calm both gas and coughing. But if the acid reflux is causing severe breathlessness or what feels like an asthma attack, you must not rely on home remedies. Go to a hospital immediately, as breathing problems can be very dangerous.

Ho na, GERD can actually trigger breathing issues because stomach acid enters the throat and irritates the lungs. It feels so scary, like a sudden attack. Aap please ek baar doctor ko dikha lo, lung aur stomach issues ko khud se handle nahi karna chahiye.

Haan, acid reflux ki wajah se gale me jalan hoti hai aur saans lene me takleef ho sakti hai, jo bilkul asthma jaisa lagta hai. Par agar aapko sach me saans lene me dikkat ho rahi hai, to bilkul dilaasa mat lo aur seedha doctor ke paas jao na.

Acidity can cause acid to splash up and irritate your airways, which can definitely worsen asthma or trigger heavy wheezing. I make sure to avoid working out on a full stomach to prevent reflux. If you are experiencing real breathing distress, please get medical help immediately.
