Can gerd cause arm pain?

I suffer from GERD and sometimes get very concerned with symptoms. Lately, along with my heartburn, I've also been feeling a dull ache in my left arm. My first thought was my heart, but I wondered, can GERD cause arm pain as a referred symptom?

Yes, severe acid reflux can sometimes cause referred pain that travels to the shoulder or arm, though it's less common. I track my heart rate and active zones regularly, and it's vital to ensure it's not a cardiac issue first. If your vitals are normal, it could just be severe esophageal spasm from GERD.

Oh God, I completely understand how terrifying it is to feel arm pain when you have acid reflux. Your mind immediately runs to a heart attack and your heart starts racing. GERD can sometimes cause radiating pain, but getting it ruled out by a doctor is the only way to quiet that anxiety.

I have thyroid issues and often face multiple confusing symptoms like muscle aches and acidity together. While GERD can cause referred pain, it's very important to keep up with your regular medical follow-ups and tests. Don't assume it's just acid reflux without checking with your doctor.

Beta, drinking warm milk with a pinch of fennel powder can help soothe severe acid reflux. However, if your arm is paining along with chest heaviness or sweating, please don't rely on home remedies. You must go to a doctor or hospital immediately to get it checked.

Please do not worry, but do be careful. Severe acidity can sometimes cause radiating discomfort, but any kind of arm pain should be checked by a doctor immediately to be completely safe. Hope you feel better soon.

I can only speak from my own experience, but during my worst GERD flare-ups, I used to feel a strange, dull ache in my left shoulder and upper arm area. Once my acidity was controlled with medications, that ache also went away. However, everyone's body is different, so please consult a professional.

I actually had this exact issue last month where severe GERD pain was radiating to my left shoulder and arm. I panicked and went to the emergency room, but all my heart tests were clear and they confirmed it was severe acid reflux. Please get checked by a doctor first to rule out anything serious.

I once ignored left arm discomfort thinking it was just my usual acidity and GERD, but it turned out to be a serious cardiovascular issue that needed immediate intervention. Never assume arm pain is just gas. Please go to a hospital and get a proper diagnosis immediately.

Yaar, arm pain with GERD is super scary, actually. Acidity can cause some crazy referred pain in the upper body, but you should never take it lightly. Ek baar doc ko dikha lo and check karlo, just to rule out any cardiac issues, fir tension free ho jana.

Whenever I feel any slight tingling in my left arm, I start Googling and panic so much thinking it is my heart. Acid reflux can cause esophageal spasms that mimic chest and arm discomfort, but please get an ECG done to be absolutely sure. It's better to be safe than stressed.

Sometimes poor posture during weightlifting or a muscle pull can cause arm pain, which happens to coincide with your GERD. But if the pain comes on suddenly with acidity, it's not something to ignore. Fix your post-workout meals, but definitely see a doctor to check the exact cause.

My dear, GERD can sometimes cause chest tightness that feels like it is moving to the arm, but any arm pain, especially on the left side, must be evaluated by a medical professional immediately. Do not sit at home trying to manage this. Go to your family doctor today and get an ECG done.
