Can gas cause shoulder pain?

I've been having some persistent pain in my left shoulder, which my doctor initially thought was muscle related. However, he also mentioned that sometimes digestive issues like gas can refer pain to the shoulder. Is it really possible for gas to cause pain in the shoulder area?

Yes, it can. My doctor explained that trapped gas in the abdomen can irritate the phrenic nerve, which shares pathways with the nerves in your shoulder. This is called referred pain. He advised keeping meals light and walking regularly to prevent it.

Honestly, yes! Every time I overindulge in heavy butter chicken and garlic naan, my stomach bloats up and my left shoulder starts aching weirdly. It's a sign from my body telling me to slow down on the cravings for a few days.

Hey, don't stress too much! Trapped gas can actually cause a super weird ache in your shoulders because of nerve connections. Sip on some warm water and walk around a bit. If it doesn't go away soon, just visit a doctor to be safe.

Yes, it is surprisingly common for gas buildup in the stomach to cause referred pain in the shoulder area. Try to rest and drink some warm water, it should help ease the discomfort.

Welcome to middle age, where eating a bowl of dal can make your shoulder hurt! Yes, gas pressure travels in mysterious ways and often ends up as shoulder stiffness. A warm water bag and early dinners are my only saviors now.
