Can gallstones cause high liver enzymes?

My doctor found I have gallstones, and my latest blood report shows high liver enzymes. He said they might be related, but I wanted to understand better. Can gallstones actually be the reason for elevated liver enzymes?

Dekho, seedhi si baat hai. Agar pitta ki pathri bile duct ko block karegi, toh liver enzymes badhenge hi. Isme zyada sochne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Seedhe doctor ke paas jao aur ultrasound karwa ke ilaaj shuru karo.

Yes, they absolutely can. When a gallstone obstructs the common bile duct, it causes backpressure on the liver, which shoots up your SGOT and SGPT levels. Don't ignore this report, get an appointment with a gastroenterologist today.

I am actually new to this and just saw my reports showing high liver enzymes. Can this go back to normal once the gallstones are treated or removed? I am a bit worried, so if anyone has gone through this, please let me know.

I just went through this last month. My liver enzymes were through the roof because of a tiny stone blocking my duct. After the doctor cleared the blockage, my enzyme levels came back to normal within two weeks. Please get it treated soon, you will feel much better.

Hey, don't stress too much about the high numbers, okay? It happens because of the stone blocking things up, which irritates the liver. Just get a doctor to look at it, follow their advice, and you will be absolutely fine. Take care!
