Can gallstones cause fever?

I've been diagnosed with gallstones, and lately, I've also been having on-and-off fever, especially in the evenings. I was wondering if this fever could be a symptom related to my gallstones.

Yes, it can. Fever usually means there is an infection, which might require immediate hospital care and expensive tests. To avoid huge emergency bills later, it is better to consult a doctor at a local clinic now and get a basic ultrasound done. Plan it out before it becomes a major medical expense.

When I had gallstones, the specialist at my hospital explicitly warned me that if I develop a fever, it is a medical emergency indicating cholecystitis. You should ask your doctor clearly about this symptom. Do not wait around, visit a good hospital immediately to get it checked.

Fever with gallstones is a major warning sign, dear. It usually means the gallbladder is inflamed or there is an infection in the bile duct. Please do not try any home remedies for this. Pack your bag and go see a doctor today to stay safe.

I ignored my mild fever thinking it was just a normal viral infection, and ended up with a severe gallbladder infection that required emergency surgery. Learn from my mistake. If you have gallstones and now a fever, please go get a checkup immediately. Don't delay.

I have been feeling a bit warm and have mild gallstone pain today, and I am getting so nervous. Has anyone else experienced a sudden fever with their stones? Is it really dangerous? Please let me know, I am thinking of calling my doctor right now.

My gastroenterologist explained that a fever accompanied by upper abdominal pain is a red flag for acute cholecystitis or cholangitis, which are infections caused by blocked bile. These conditions require prompt medical care and often antibiotics. Please consult a doctor immediately.

Yes, a fever can happen if the gallstones are causing an infection. Please do not panic, but it is very important to get evaluated by a medical professional as soon as possible. Take care of yourself.
