Can gall bladder polyps cause pain?

During a recent medical check-up, the ultrasound showed I have some polyps in my gall bladder. I've also been having occasional discomfort and mild pain in that upper abdominal area. Can gall bladder polyps actually cause this kind of pain?

I panicked so much when my ultrasound showed a small polyp! But my doctor explained that small polyps usually don't cause any pain and are harmless. Often the pain is actually due to silent stones or gas, so get a proper evaluation to be sure.

At my age, I have learned that regular scans are essential to monitor these small things. Polyps rarely cause pain unless they are large or blocking the tract. Keep an eye on your blood pressure and overall lifestyle, and get regular follow-up ultrasounds.

Do not let anxiety build up in your mind, as stress can also affect our digestion. Polyps are quite common and often don't cause trouble. Keep yourself positive, eat simple foods, and let the doctors check what is causing the discomfort.

Most polyps are asymptomatic, but if you have pain, it could be because of how your system is handling fats. Keeping your diet very light, oil-free, and plant-based can ease the load on your gallbladder. Definitely discuss this with a dietitian and your doctor.

I was recently diagnosed with a 4mm polyp and have been feeling a mild ache on my right side. Is it possible that the polyp is causing this, or could it be something else? I am a bit nervous to go back to the hospital alone.

Usually, small polyps sit quietly without any pain. If you are hurting, drinking warm mint tea or taking light meals might soothe a generic stomach ache. But please don't rely only on home tips; get a doctor to review your scan report.
