Can gabapentin cause stomach pain?

I recently started taking gabapentin for my anxiety issues. Since I started, I've been having some stomach discomfort and occasional pain. My friend suggested it could be a side effect. Can gabapentin cause stomach pain?

Yes, actually gastric irritation is a known side effect of gabapentin for some people. Try to take it strictly after meals, never on an empty stomach. If the pain is sharp or doesn't go away, tell your doctor so they can adjust the dosage or give you an antacid.

Bro same here, my stomach was acting up crazy when I first got on it. I talked to my doc and he told me to avoid taking it late at night on an empty stomach. Eating some light snacks before the dose really sorted it out for me.

Oh, totally! When I started gabapentin, my stomach was in knots for the first few days. Honestly, taking it with a glass of warm milk or some solid food helped me a lot. Give your body a little time to adjust, but don't tolerate heavy pain.

Strong medicines can sometimes disturb our internal fire, leading to acidity and mild abdominal discomfort. Doing gentle Vajrasana after meals and drinking fennel water might help soothe your stomach. However, if the pain persists, please check with your doctor.

I totally get it, dealing with stomach aches on top of regular health issues is so frustrating. Gabapentin can sometimes upset the tummy lining. Please don't suffer silently, reach out to your doctor and ask if they can prescribe something to protect your stomach.

Since I have PCOS, my stomach is already very sensitive to different meds. I noticed some bloating and mild cramps when I was prescribed this. I wouldn't say it's definitely the medicine causing it for you, so it's safer to check with your gynec or physician.
