Can gabapentin be used for tooth pain?

I'm experiencing severe tooth pain that feels like it's affecting the nerves, and regular painkillers aren't really helping. My friend mentioned gabapentin for nerve-related issues. Can gabapentin be prescribed or used effectively for severe tooth pain?

Haan, gabapentin nerve pain ke liye hoti hai, toh agar tooth pain kisi deep nerve damage ki wajah se hai toh doctor dete hain. Normal dard ke liye toh simple painkiller hi kaam kar jaati hai na. Doctor se pooch kar hi lena ye heavy medicine.

I went to Columbia Asia Hospital for my root canal nerve pain. The specialist there clearly told me that Gabapentin is only for specific chronic nerve issues and not for standard tooth decay. Please ask your dentist clearly before taking such medications.

I completely understand how unbearable tooth pain can be, it literally makes your whole head throb and causes so much anxiety. Gabapentin is quite a strong nerve medication and not a standard painkiller. Please don't take it without a dentist's direct green light.

Gabapentin is specifically used for neuropathic pain, like trigeminal neuralgia, which can feel like severe tooth pain. However, for a regular cavity or dental infection, it won't help much and is not recommended. You need to see a dentist to treat the root cause.

My neurologist told me that Gabapentin modulation is strictly for chronic neuropathic pain conditions. He emphasized that acute dental pain due to infection requires antibiotics or NSAIDs, not nerve blocks like Gabapentin. Better to get an X-ray done.

At my age, half my teeth are fillings and the other half are crowns. I have taken many painkillers, but Gabapentin is definitely not for routine dental pain unless your nerve is completely damaged. Don't play chemist at home, go see your dentist.

I would be very scared to use Gabapentin for a simple toothache because it is an anticonvulsant and has heavy side effects like dizziness. What if it reacts badly with other things? It is much safer to just call your dentist and ask for a regular dental painkiller.

I haven't slept all night because of a wisdom tooth issue, so I get the desperation! But popping Gabapentin for toothache is like using a rocket launcher to kill a mosquito. Stick to clove oil or a simple pill prescribed by your dentist.
