Can fever cause red eyes?

Last month, when I was down with a fever, my eyes were really red and felt irritated, almost like I hadn't slept for days. I was wondering if fever itself can cause red eyes.

Yes, red eyes are quite common during a fever, especially with a cold or viral infection. My grandmother always says to put a few drops of pure rosewater, but I prefer to consult my eye doctor first to ensure it's not conjunctivitis.

Viral fevers often cause blood vessels in the eyes to swell, making them look red. Drinking warm herbal teas and eating light, nutrient-rich vegetarian meals can help your body fight the infection faster. Keep your eyes rested and avoid screens.

Please don't just assume it is a normal fever symptom and ignore it. I once ignored red, painful eyes during a fever and ended up with a severe eye infection that took weeks to cure. Go get it checked by an ophthalmologist or your physician to be safe.

Haha, you might end up looking like a tired vampire for a couple of days! But yes, fever and sinus pressure definitely cause those red, bloodshot eyes. Just sleep it off and don't scare your family members too much.

Haan na, viral fever mein aankhein ekdum laal aur bhaari ho jaati hain. It feels very irritating and watery. Just close your eyes, put a damp cool cloth over them, and take proper rest.
