Can fatty liver cause enlarged spleen?

Diagnosed with fatty liver some time ago, my last ultrasound also showed a slightly enlarged spleen. Could my fatty liver condition be related to this?

Arey, my body is like a chain reaction, one organ swells and then the neighbor also gets jealous! Jokes aside, yes, advanced fatty liver can cause spleen enlargement due to pressure build-up. Get a proper checkup done by a doctor, don't ignore it.

Whoa, didn't know the spleen could also get involved. Sounds a bit serious compared to just normal fatty liver. Bro, if your ultrasound shows an enlarged spleen, u should definitely get a doctor to check it out soon.

As a long-term diabetic, I know that liver issues can affect other organs too. If fatty liver progresses to severe stages, it can definitely impact the spleen. Keep your blood sugar in strict check and consult a specialist immediately.

Yes, it can. My doctor explained that when liver scarring or severe fatty liver happens, it restricts blood flow through the portal vein, which leads to portal hypertension and swells the spleen. You need a gastroenterologist's evaluation for this.

My teenage son had a mild liver issue and the doctor did a full scan to check the spleen too. Thankfully it was normal, but they told us to watch out for any swelling. Please get a proper doctor's opinion and don't try to manage this at home.
